St Patrick's Day

It was supposed to be a fun day. I had off from work, and I was going to spend the day with my gf and her family. We would enjoy the St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC, followed by a trip to the zoo in Central Park. Then, head back to her grandma's house for a traditional Irish dinner.

All plans changed.

First, I got to the city about an hour before they did, so I was stuck wandering around for a bit, waiting for them. The mask remained in my jacket pocket. I felt the need to keep it with me, though I'm not quite sure why. Perhaps that was my mistake today. I was not cautious enough.

When my gf's family finally got to the city, we headed up to Central Park to be near where the parade would begin. We were only gonna watch til her family's Irish county came, and then head into the park itself. About an hour after the parade started (around noon), I started looking around, wondering how many people were already drunk, and who was smoking the marijuana (I'm a bit sick, can't smell anything, but I could still smell THAT). I kept looking, and then I saw something I hoped not to see.

Him.

He was across the street. I could see Him, clear as day. Pretty much the only person that WASN'T in the parade wearing a black suit. I could see a few tentacles behind Him, just kinda waving with the wind. Nobody else noticed Him. I immediately turned to my girlfriend and told her I was getting very claustrophobic and that I needed to get to a space where I could move freely and breathe. She said she understood and told me to call her when I was heading back to them. I kissed her, and immediately began running downtown through the crowds of people.

The tentacles followed me. Between dodging people and trying to see where I was going/how close they were, I think we were at about an even speed. I ran from Central Park all the way down to the Empire State Building. Normally a 30-40 minute walk at my pace, taking me only 20 minutes. I still didn't stop. I found my way to the stairs, and I began running up them as fast as I could.

I finally made it onto the roof, where I ran over to the edge and looked down, like the idiot I am sometimes. I looked down, I could see the tentacles still, not Him. They didn't get inside the building, and they started retracting, like they were returning to their master.

I waited on the roof for about an hour, having a few cigarettes to try and calm me down. Surprisingly, they worked better than normally. After my last cig, I started to head back down the stairs and leave the building.

From the Empire State Building back up to Central Park, I watched everybody and everything out of the corner of my eye. I had no idea whether or not He would reappear or send a proxy after me.

There was nothing this time. I made it back to my girlfriend safe and sound.

But something was different.

She said she saw these black shadows moving on the ground in my direction.

She didn't see the tentacles, just their shadows. That's not a good sign at all.

And to top things off, after the day was finally done, I got home to discover both a video response to my latest youtube video, as well as a full-on coded post on my blog. Rebecca, thank you for decoding it for me.

I have the feeling that the person uploading the videos (whose name on Youtube happens to be OutOfTheLie, a pun on the title of my blog), and the one putting the codes into my blog, are the same person. Perhaps, maybe it's even the same proxy that attacked me on camera the one night. Although, if the proxy and these other two personas are the same, why did he attack me?

He seems to want to help me, but how do I know I can trust him?

Should I even try to trust him?

Everything gets more and more serious. Not sure where to go from here.

  1. It seems to me that he's generally worried about your well being, which is confusing, concerning the group of people he comes from. But even still...you can't really turn down such an offer. Such a thing would be considered rude.

Personally, I would attempt to trust him, but still be weary. Time will tell whether or not he's trustworthy or not. And given the track record of his peers, it can go either way.

Do what you think is best.
